World Class Optics: The Stellarvue SVX090T-3SV features an 90 mm f-6 (540 mm focal length) fully multi-coated, 3-element objective lens with a super low dispersion center element. The SVX series apochromatic telescopes use objectives that have the highest optical ratings as measured and documented on our Zygo Phase-Shifting Laser Interferometer. 90 mm SVX series optics are rated at .98 - .996 Strehl with excellent optical correction of aberrations. To attain this level of optical accuracy Stellarvue opticians meticulously figure objectives in our shop to attain the highest level of optical performance. They are about five times more accurate than our former SV models. Each SVX series refractor comes with a Zygo interferometric test report taken in our shop, documenting the accuracy of your individual objective.
Financing: It is not possible to finance a deposit but financing is available for your final payment. That can be arranged once your telescope is finished.
Waiting Period: Please do not order this telescope if you are in a hurry or cannot tolerate unexpected delays. Our priority is optical accuracy rather than speed. Our estimation of the delivery date for telescopes ordered now is by the end of the year. It may be sooner or later based on whatever we need to do to reach our exceedingly high SVX optical standard. One thing is certain, the sooner you order, the sooner you will receive yours. When you place an order you will be charged an $800 deposit. The balance will not be due until your telescope is finished. You will notice on the order it states "Free Shipping." That is because you are only paying a deposit. We will charge our discounted rate for shipping by either Fed Ex or UPS when your telescope is finished.

Light gathering and magnification power: Although Dawes limit states maximum power for telescopes under good conditions is about 213 power for a 90 mm telescope, you can exceed this power on a very steady night. This is a true apo triplet, capable of higher power when conditions permit.
Dispelling mis-conceptions. Some visual observers are under the mistaken impression that they need a longer focal length telescope based on their experience with achromats, less than perfect apochromats and less expensive eyepieces. This is not the case with our SVX optics if well-corrected eyepieces are used. All one needs to do is obtain a higher power, equally corrected eyepiece. So for the individual who believes an f-8 focal ratio is needed to attain 150X (using our Optimus 4.7) all that is really needed is to use an Optimus 3.6 mm eyepiece to obtain the same result. The f-6 focal ratio has the advantage of a much more compact telescope that provides a wider field with any given eyepiece. This faster speed is very beneficial when and if the owner wishes to also use it for Electronically Assisted Astronomy (EAA) or decides to try wide field imaging. Faster high-strehl optics also retain a higher resale value.
Two-year warranty and Stellarvue service: We are with you for life. Stellarvue telescopes and accessories are covered by a two-year parts and labor warranty, but our service does not stop there. Since we are a telescope maker, we can repair your SVX telescope for a nominal fee even years after the warranty expires, should you accidentally drop or otherwise damage it, (within reasonable limits naturally). Buy a Stellarvue telescope with confidence - our customer care is legendary!
