Stellar Shot of the Week
Brian Meyers caught this awesome shot of the Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) in Ursa Major with his SVX90T and SVX152T.
This face-on spiral galaxy rests roughly 25 million light-years away from Earth and has a diameter of 170,000 light-years. Possessing somewhere around a trillion stars, it has a disk mass order of 100 billion solar masses, with a central bulge of about 3 billion solar masses.
