Located in Auburn, California, Stellarvue is one of only a three high-end refractor telescope manufacturers in the USA. We are a small company with a friendly and highly motivated staff. We have been in business for 21 years and we are growing. Work hours are 8:30 - 5 Monday through Friday with weekends and holidays off. 

We are hoping to fill three positions depending on the availability of applicants. 

Pay is based on experience, commensurate with BLS median rate plus incentive pay. We offer full time health benefits for employees after a 60 day probation and we annually offer a simple IRA for employees wanting to build an IRA and receiving matching contributions of 3%. 

vf3-300.jpgFull Time Journey Level CNC Machinist:

We are looking for someone with at least three years experience in programming and operating Haas four axis cnc machines or equivalent. We have the following equipment:

1. A new Haas VF3 with all the bells and whistles including extended travel, touch probe, through the spindle coolant, etc.  
2. Identically equipped Haas VF2.
3. Kent's largest three axis cnc knee mill
4. Kent 16X40 Lathe with DRO

We machine aluminum parts in quantity for use as components and accessories for our telescopes. We also manufacture wood telescope tripods in a new wood shop we are developing now. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to apply.

Full Time Trainee Position: 

Stellarvue is in immediate need of a very positive, self-motivated and dedicated individual to build assemblies and learn how to perform quality checks on finished products. This position will be trained on site in the work they perform. 

The Assembler will learn how to build and check mechanical and optical assembly parts. This position will:

1. Assemble telescope parts including finder scopes, mounts, star diagonals, imaging accessories and tripods. Using machines including mills, drills and saws to fabricate components made of aluminum and wood. 

2. Using our software, they will input everything they have built on a daily basis to keep our inventory up to date. 

3. Order component parts when they hit the minimum level.

Once they have mastered assembly they will expand their role by answering telephones and then taking online orders. Over time we want this person to grow with the company, learn about our products and be able to eventually answer customers questions about telescopes. Pay increases as employee contributions increase. This is a team atmosphere and employees who work here help others to achieve their goals.

maskingtubesanddewshields.jpgExperience in assembly, using hand tool and machinery is desirable but not required. 

Depending on experience, the Assembler may work as a trainee for up to 90 days to bring skills up the the level required. If the employee has developed the required skills by that time she or he will be hired as an Assembler. 60 days after being hired as an Assembler the employee will be able to receive benefits including health, dental and vision, Stellarvue pays half of the employee benefit rate. Stellarvue also offers a simple IRA program where Stellarvue matches the employees 3% contribution.
