This is the latest version of our 130 mm apo triplet refractor. This model uses a lens design that provides excellent correction for both visual use and imaging (with a field flattener). The hand-figured objective uses a super low-dispersion center element and a Lanthanum rear element. As with all SVX optics, these objectives are hand figured in the USA.
Availability: We are generally able to complete telescope orders in one to four weeks. Creating premium optics takes a long time. So, we begin the process up to one year in advance and strive to maintain a small inventory of our completed, hand-figured objectives in house. This enables us to complete most SVX telescope orders in a reasonable amount of time. We never rush the process, and we make it clear that time is not of the essence in creating our premium refractors. If you are considering the purchase of this telescope, we encourage you to call us at (530) 823-7796 to get the most up-to-date estimate on when this telescope, ordered now, will be completed.
What's included?

- SVX130T telescope
- CNC-machined tube rings
- Your choice between the Losmandy-Style TP013A or TP019, or the Vixen-Style TP012 mounting rail. Select the one you prefer above.
- Choose one of three focusers: Stellarvue 3" focuser, Feather-Touch 3.5" focuser or Moonlite 3.5" Nitecrawler Focuser. Simply select the one you prefer above. Learn more at: Stellarvue Focuser Choices.
- American-made, waterproof SKB case with custom-cut polyethylene foam interior that is durable and does not absorb moisture. We believe this is the best foam material available for a telescope.
- Each SVX refractor comes with a color Zygo interferometric test report taken at full aperture in our shop, documenting the final accuracy of your objective.
- Operators Manual
Options:
Optional Visual Accessories: You will need a star diagonal, eyepieces, mount, and tripod to observe with this telescope. You will find that a finder scope is helpful in locating objects. We recommend the following:
ADD OUR BEST VISUAL ACCESSORIES AND SAVE : Select both the star diagonal and deluxe Optimus eyepiece set. You will get our best accessories along with a durable, American-made, padded case and save $100.
Having a finder scope makes it easy to locate objects in your telescope. We recommend the F050IW2 finder scope. Select the R050DA option and the finder rings will slide into the finderscope on your focuser.
Mounts: For strictly visual use with tis telescope, we recommend the Rowan mounts.
For imaging we recommend:
Losmandy G11G or
Paramount MYT. This is a great choice for accurate long-exposure imaging.

Optical Imaging Accessories: Photographic Field Flattener: To image with this telescope, use the SFFX-3 photographic Field Flattener.
Photographic Focal Reducer/Field Flattener: This photographic field flattener and reducer is made exclusively by Stellarvue. It is designed as a full-frame, dedicated reducer/flattener specifically for our SVX130T and SVX140T apo triplet refractors.
It reduces the f-ratio on the SVX130T from f-7 to f-5.6 reducing its focal length to 728 mm. It reduces the f-ratio on the SVX140T from f-6.7 to f-5.4, reducing its focal length to 750 mm. As with all Stellarvue-designed photographic flatteners, these units have a long back focus to accommodate using a variety of additional accessories. Stellarvue will match the camera thread and back focus of your imaging train as long as your camera thread is one of these: M42, M48, M-54, M-68, 2.156"-24, 3"-24.
Unlike our previous imported reducer/flatteners with a single extra low dispersion element, this unit uses two very low-dispersion, fluoro-phosphate glasses. All elements are fully multi-coated with broadband coatings designed for astro-imaging. The unit is large and designed to work with 3.5" focusers including Stellarvue telescopes sold with a 3.5" Feather Touch or the 3.5" Moonlight focuser.
Optics: SVX130T is rated at .97 Strehl or higher as measured on our Zygo Phase Shifting Interferometer in red light. Visit our SVX Optics Page to learn more about this process.
Coatings: Broadband, full multi-coatings on each surface enhance contrast and eliminate unwanted reflections.
Specifications:
Objective Lens: Air-spaced 130 mm, 910 mm focal length (f-7) fully multi-coated apochromatic triplet. The front lens is a durable, conventional glass, the second is a very expensive super low-dispersion (vD =94.93 - 95.10) element and the third is a Lanthanum element. Read more information on glass types here. Combining the best, high homogeneity optical glass with extreme wave front accuracy. These are the best 130 objectives we have ever offered. Each objective is meticulously figured in our optical shop in Auburn, California. Our final Zygo optical test report is included.
