Stellarvue's certified preowned telescopes are traded in when customers upgrade their SVX refractors. These certified preowned telescopes are cleaned and aligned by us, come with a new test report and covered by a full two-year parts and labor warranty. Many people wind up with an older model thinking it will perform as well as our current SVX refractors and that is often not the case. We are always willing to talk with you to help you make the right choice.
If you are interested in trading in your Stellarvue for a larger or newer instrument, contact us and we will be happy to discuss it with you. We only take in trades as part of a new SVX telescope purchase. We do not take in trades in exchange for CPO or surplus items we are selling. What we receive in trade must be a Stellarvue SVX refractor or certain, specific SV models. Here is the trade-in process:
1. Contact us and discuss what we think your used Stellarvue telescope will sell for. We will take a 30% consignment fee for selling your instrument. Once you know what the net will be, if you are still interested, we will issue you a Return Authorization Number and give you instructions on how to ship the telescope to us.

2. You ship the telescope to us, fully insured. Once we receive the telescope, give us two weeks to evaluate and confirm the condition. At this point, you will need to purchase the new telescope. Under this program the new telescope purchase must be made before we begin any work.
3. About 60 days after the new telescope purchase is made, your telescope will appear on the web, cleaned, alignment checked and a new Zygo test will be made. It will be photographed with the test report and listed for the agreed-upon price.
4. Once the CPO telescope is sold, we hold the funds for 45 days since each telescope is sold with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The guarantee starts when the customer receives the telescope. So once the money-back period is over, we issue payment for 70% of the sale price.
