These adapters and extension tubes are made specifically for Stellarvue Photographic Field Flatteners and Stellarvue dedicated Reducer/Flatteners.
The first set of adapters are focuser adapters. These may or may not be needed to attach the field flattener or reducer flattener to your particular telescope's focuser.
The second set of these accesories are M69 extension tubes and spacer rings that go between the flattener or reducer/flattener and the camera or imaging train. Stellarvue fatteners and reducer/flatteners have a longer back focal length than other flatteners on the market. This has been designed into our systems to allow customers greater flexibility when it comes to adding accessories. If the customer wants to add a rotator, for example, and the rotator takes up an additional 20 mm, the customer can compensate for this by replacing extensions tubes with those that are 20 mm shorter. This will maintain the proper back focus while adding components to the imaging train. Most competitive flatteners have only enough back focus to accomodate a camera, filter wheel and OAG. If someone adds a rotator to these systems, proper backfocus will not be maintained and the field will not be flat. We have a wide assortment of extension tubes and spacer rings, allowing you to set the backfocus within .5mm.
The third set of accessories are alternate camera adapters. If your old camera had an M48 attachment thread and your new camera has an M54, all you need to do is replace your old adapter with a new one with the proper threads. All of our camera adapters thread into our M69 extensions. They are all the same thickness so back focus is maintained when changing out adapters. Our thread sizes are currently: M42, M48, M54, M68, 2.156-24, 3"-18, fitting nearly every astronomy camera out there.
