SVX102T - W63

Jeff Ratino captured this brilliant shot of W63 (SNR G082.2+05.3) in Cygnus with his SVX102T. This supernova remnant (SNR) rests somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 light-years away from Earth. Its glowing, expanding, blue, elliptical-shaped shock shell spans roughly 150 light-years across.

According to Jeff: “This object is very, very faint. It took several nights of stacking to really begin to see the OIII filaments. This image is a two-panel mosaic.”
