SFFX2

Two nights ago, the first clear skies in weeks gave me an opportunity for first light with my TEC140ED and new SFFX2 flattener from Stellarvue. The flattener is HUGE and weighs 2 lbs. It's a thing of beautiful - well engineering and designed, simple and clean. The front of the flattener threads directly to the Feathertouch 3.5" focuser. SV provides different adapters and extensions to fit various camera threads and imaging train requirements. SV made a custom adapter for my QHY600M rig and provided two additional 1mm spacers and a 10mm extension for my specific back focus needs. The back focus is spec’d for 79-80mm, depending on the scope size and FL. I ended up with about 81mm for the TEC140 and still need a tad more spacing so I'll probably end up adding another .6 -.8mm spacer. So far, I'm very impressed and it looks like a great match for the TEC. BTW - Vic at Stellarvue was a pleasure to work with on the flattener.
