This kit includes four pieces of adhesive felt. If the felt on your rings gets worn or begins to peel off due to inclement conditions, it can be easily replaced as follows:
1. Remove the telescope from the rings.

2. Leave the rings open and remove the old felt completely.
3. Match the cutout on the knob side of the rings, then peel and stick the felt.
A little residue will not hurt anything. If you want to remove any residue, use gloves and Acetone. Be careful to make sure the Acetone does not come in contact with any painted/varnished surfaces.
