Counter Weight System
Very well made product, great quality. Smooth operation and great for fine tuning OTA balance when changing eyepieces etc.

Balancing Act Solution!
A worthwhile addition to help with the big eyepiece/small eyepiece balancing act. The product arrived promptly and well packaged. I’m still using the packaging when transporting the Stellarvue 110. Product is well made. I have the balancing shaft pointed forward on the rear ring, but your mileage will vary. I can now use my Nagler 31 & Stellarvue 20 with the other lightweight eyepieces on my older Stellarvue M002 mount without fear of the scope nosediving! I’ll fashion something to keep the wingnut/washer from falling into the grass when my fingers feel like frozen sausages. I’d buy it again! Thank you Stellarvue.

Great accessory for fine adjustments...
The CW-1 counterweight system is a perfect match for the SVX 130T. It has the same high end machined finish as the 130 and color matches the OTA rings. I like to know that the belt drives on my mount are working within their designed parameters. Switching from a small eyepiece to a large one, or from one accessory to another, I feel, introduces stress on a mount because the balance changes. The CW-1 helps mitigate this change. I have experimented with the CW-1 and found that it can be mounted on either OTA ring facing in either direction on the scope, offering great flexibility of use. I prefer mounting it on the ring furthest from the focuser but facing it. It works well on the 130 with all the eyepieces I currently use. I set up the CW-1 weight in its center position on its bar with my most used eyepiece and diagonal inserted (while in focus, dew shield extended and cap removed) and work from there. There is minimal load on my locking clamp and drive motor after I fine tune the balance of the scope. As I understand it, the CW-1 is an accessory for visual use only. Be prepared to accommodate the extra weight of the CW-1 with the appropriate tripod mount counterweight for best results. Looks awesome too if you ask me. Thanks Stellarvue!
