The M002c is smooth with a very quality feel to the mount. Solid with a nice fit and finish. For me this will be attached to a carbon fiber tripod for a grab and go type setup. Adding the recommended Digital Setting Circles and a Nexus DSC Pro for visual push to operating at a dark sky location. As I have gotten older my ability to setup and transport larger scopes has diminished. Stellarvue Scopes and Mounts allow me to continue to enjoy the hobby. If you are getting older, give the Stellarvue M002C a try is my recommendation. Quality at an affordable price.

Easy to install and is as sturdy as advertised. Adds quite a bit of height that gives me the flexibility to easily point refractors as high as I want.

Using this pier extension allowed me to not only avoid my telescope hitting the legs of my tripod but also allowed me to lower the tripod legs almost to the bottom. This result in the strengthening of my tripod and less chance for vibration.

I bought the MEC010 column to use the M002C mount on my CG4 tripod and it works perfectly. Great height and there is zero wiggle on any connection. Build quality is exceptional as well. Does the job flawlessly.
