This is the latest version of the M002C mount. The new Stellarvue M002CX is built here using stainless and cnc machined aluminum components, 3" Teflon bearings and stainless roller bearings. This new X version is identical to the M002C but with one important upgrade, we now have a new dual Losmandy/Vixen shoe that is even more stable and has a higher capacity. This new shoe is compatible with both the Stellarvue and Rowan mounts! The mount head can be attached directly to a heavy-duty tripod with a 3/8-16 stud, or it attaches to a Stellarvue MEC column for attachment to various astronomy tripods.
Latest Upgrade:
The smoothness of the actions of this mount makes slow motion controls unnecessary, so they are not included. Set the two tension adjustment knobs for minimum drag and effortlessly glide around the night sky.
The mount will hold our telescopes up to 130 mm and other scopes, up to about 25 pounds. The mount head itself weighs about 6.2 pounds and comes standard with our new TDLV-XS spring-loaded shoe to accommodate both Vixen and Losmandy rails. If using a Losmandy style rail, we recommend using two safety screws so it will not slide through the shoe when the knobs are loosened.
A handle system is being made now for the M002CX with the new TDLV-XS shoe. This handle will be available in December.

You can convert the M002CX mount into a computerized, "push-to" mount, by puchasing both the Nexus M002C encoder kit and the Nexus DSC Pro with Wifi. You may purchase these for the M002CX or your existing M002C mount by navigating to our Nexus pages.
