Just awesome
I had purchased a 16 inch scope and needed a finder for it. After looking at the Stellarvue 80mm i decided why not, go big or go home. Build quality is first rate no doubt about it. The image is crisp and clean across 95% of the view with only the very edge being a bit fuzzy. What really impressed me was just the overall quality of the image. I will just call it perfect. I have already decided to upgrade the finder on my ten inch and while the 80 will be too much i suspect the 10x60 will be perfect. I may never be able to afford the scopes but have no issues spending the money on their finders.

Finderscope and RFT in one light weight package
I've owned an 8" LX90 goto SCT for nearly 20 years. Over the las ten years, I have been on a quest to maximize the widest field possible. 2" diagonal paired with low power wide AFOV eye pieces and focal reducers help, but what I really wanted was to attach a short focal length refractor to be able to get detailed views of open star clusters and faint nebulas.
The 13X80 more than fits the bill. While technically not a refractor, it's fast focal ratio and large 80mm aperture, provides me with with the alternate wide views I was seeking. Thanks to the smooth Helical focuser and ring mounting system, I now have a lite weight RFT on my SCT.
Thank you Stellarvue for such a convenient and lite weight solution. I highly recommend this finderscope for anyone with a long focal length SCT looking for wider views of larger faint objects.
Happy Observing,
Tom

80mm Finder Scope with RACI diagonal — Great Quality
Received my Stellarvue 80mm finder with the RACI diagonal last week. Amazing quality. Much better than another brand’s 70mm Multi-purpose finder. Stars were clearly seen to the edge, every bit as good as my 9x50 finder BUT I can see much deeper. I replaced the eyepiece with a 20mm 70 degree reticle eyepiece, so I am working at 15x.

Note: to get larger clear aperture and larger possible field of view you can replace the diagonal by removing it with its attached flange. The threads on the interior of the flange holder are M54 x 0.75 (note not the tube, those or M82x1 as noted). Using a M54 to T2 adapter I can then screw directly on a Baader T2 amici prism diagonal.

Stellarvue 13x80 finer with 80mm rings and E1002 Illuminator
I recently purchased this finderscope and mounted it on my Celestron Edge HD1400. The view through the illuminated reticle eyepiece is exceptionally clear and the overall finish and functionality is exemplary. I am also the proud owner of a superb Stellarvue SV90TBV Triplet and it is good to see that the high quality of the high end OTA's extends to the lower priced accessories. I was fortunate to find the product in stock and it was delivered in record time.

Great dual views for outreach
At outreach events, I use the 80mm Stellarvue RACI mounted on my 8" Dob. 16mm ES 68 eyepiece gives 19x for a nice wide-field view, complements the Dob view for many targets.

Exactly what I had in mind
I needed a 80 mm to 100mm RACI optical finder for my 28 inch f/4 Newtonian that was light weight and the Stellervue 80mm finder was exactly what I needed.I also got the 80 mm rings, which perfectly fit the 80 mm finder. I've observed two nights under dark skies with it and I'm a happy customer.

Excellent Finder for a Larger Refractor.
I have this mounted piggyback on a 120mm doublet on a CGEM. The standard finder was "okay," but was both inconvenient, ergonomically, as well as having, at best, barely passable views. I have also utilized a "Brand X" 80mm short tube, and it was a bit better. This finder, however, gives much better "views," is more compact, simpler to adjust for various viewing angles, and is a bit lighter, increasing positioning options. The views are good, the contrast is excellent, and mounted in my already-on-hand ADM MDS and rings, is definitely the a better option for me. Oh, yeah, did I mention the workmanship is top-rate and it looks terrific, too? :)
