Dave Weixelman captured this image of the moon with his SVX127D. This is a 3-panel mosaic captured with a ZWO ASI585MC camera. This image was taken on January 28, 2026, near Nevada City, CA. The moon phase was waxing gibbous at the time of the photo. Prominent in the photo are the craters Tycho, Copernicus, Plato and Mare Imbrium. For each panel, SharpCap was used to capture a video file of 1000 frames and the best 50% of frames were stacked in AstroStakkert. The 3 panels were stitched in Photoshop and further image refinement, and stretching was also done in Photoshop.
