Stephan Lesher captured this radiant image of the Elephant’s Trunk nebula (IC 1396A) in Cepheus with his SVX102T. This emission nebula rests approximately 2,400 light-years away from Earth and spans about 20 light-years across. The bright rim is the surface of a dense cloud being illuminated and ionized by the very bright, massive multiple star (HD 206267) just to the east of this object.
