SVX102T - LDN 1089
Jeff Ratino captured this brilliant shot of LDN 1089 in Cepheus with his SVX102T. Located 1,200 light-years away from Earth this dark nebula is composed of dense dust and gas that blocks the light from objects behind it. This nebula is part of the larger Lynds Catalog of Dark Nebulae and was discovered by Beverly T. Lynds in the 1960s.According to Jeff:
“LDN 1089 is a dark molecular cloud located in the constellation Cepheus. It is about 1,200 light-years away. This object reminds me of the Dementors in Harry Potter.”
