NGC 663 – Dave Weixelman

Posted by Stellarvue on 22nd Oct 2018

This star cluster filled image was submitted to us by Dave Weixelman. We want to thank Dave for allowing us to share with the Stellarvue family. He “owned the night” and wrote: The rich starfields in Cassiopeia are great for observing and imaging. This image was taken with the SV70T and QSI 660 WSG camera with lrgb filters. Total integration time was 4 hours. The large star cluster near center is NGC 663. There are several other open clusters in this image (NGC 659, NGC654, IC 166 at top) and several dark nebulae, the most prominent one is to the left in this image. Taken from the VERY dark skies of Likely, CA on September 7. Also including a photo of the set-up I used for this image. Copyright Dave Weixelman.
