NGC 281 Pacman Nebula – Alan Pham

Posted by Stellarvue on 12th Nov 2018

This Pacman nebula image was submitted to us by Alan Pham. He has quite the fan base and following on Astrobin, and we too have become fans of his work. To “Own the Night,” Alan shows what can be done with a 4” triplet refractor.

Alan’s set up for capturing this great image is his Stellarvue SV4 on an Astro-Physics Mach1 GTO mount. He also uses a ZWO ASI1600MM-Cool imaging camera, QHY5L-II-M guiding camera, Astro-Tech AT2FF Field Flattener, and Astrodon OIII 1.25 3nm, Ha 1.25 5nm, SII 1.25 3nm filters. Alan’s total integration time was 28.8 hours. He captured this beautiful image in September from his backyard in San Jose, California, U.S.A.

We are thankful to be able to share this with the Stellarvue family, and hope you agree that this is truly a StellarShot. NGC 281 image copyright Alan Pham.
