I bought 4 used Stellarvue scopes plus a couple dozen new & used other types and brands over the years experimenting to find the right scopes for me. SV’s glass, engineering and craftsmanship is the finest I have ever seen in a telescope, and customer service is exactly what you would want. And it is American made.
This particular scope is now my permanent/forever small scope; replacing it would only be a downgrade. It is the best balance of aperture vs. portability. Perfect for EAA/AP or grab & go visual and fits in airline carry on luggage (vertically not diagonally) with room left over for a strain wave mount, cameras and other gear, plus padding, in case you want to fly with it. The included SV padded case for the imaging version holds the scope sans risers with both the field flattener and a ZWO (or probably Pegasus or other) EAF attached with room left over for a finder scope/camera and cables.
The only way it could be better is if SV set it up for me at night and then took it down in the morning.

It’s the best portable scope ever .
