The Stellarvue M002C is made here using stainless and cnc machined aluminum components, 3" Teflon bearings and stainless roller bearings. This is latest version of the M002C mount head using precision machined stainless stafts. It is the smoothest version of the M002C ever. The mount head can be attached directly to a heavy duty tripod with a 3/8-16 stud or it attaches to a Stellarvue MEC column for attachment to various astronomy tripods.
The smoothness of the actions of this mount makes slow motion controls unnecessary, so they are not included. Set the two tension adjustment knobs for minimum drag and effortlessly glide around the night sky.
The mount will hold our 70 mm - 130 mm telescopes and other scopes, up to about 25 pounds. The mount head itself weighs about 6.2 pounds and comes standard with our TDLV spring-loaded shoe to accommodate both Vixen and Losmandy rails. If using a Losmandy style rail, we recommend using two safety screws so it will not slide through the shoe when the knobs are loosened.
To convert this mount into a computerized, push-tooencoder mount use the Nexus Encoder kit by Astro-Devices.
