This is the Astro-Devices Nexus DSC-Pro digital setting circles control unit.

Nexus DSC Pro is an advanced digital setting circles computer that packs all the latest technologies into a device designed for your telescope.

DESCRIPTION

The Nexus DSC Pro boasts a powerful CPU and larger flash memory & RAM that allow you to spend more time doing what you really want: looking at the sky.

With the Pro’s upgraded CPU, memory, RAM, and sensors, you can store more objects in the database, search the database quicker, use encoder speeds of up to 100 million steps per second, and understand the environment around you better. The Pro will also have multi-lingual support, planned for the future.

You can use the Nexus DSC Pro with planetarium software (such as SkySafari Plus/Pro, Starry Night, Cartes du Ciel, and TheSky) on WiFi-enabled computing devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple Computers, Android phones/tablets, Kindle Fire, and Windows based PCs/tablets).

When purchasing digital setting circles for your telescope, you’ll also need to have encoders installed on your mount - without these, your DSC has no way of interfacing with your telescope. The encoders are attached to your telescope’s axes and send signals to your DSC, letting it determine the position of your telescope.

The Stellarvue M002C Encoder Installation Kit is created specifically for Stellarvue M002C mounts (the current model).

WHAT’S IN THE BOX
  • 2 x encoders (311,296 steps)
  • 1 x installation hardware set
  • 1 x 40cm straight encoder cable
  • 1 x installation instruction booklet

Note: This kit is for the current model of M002C mounts, not the former version. The former version used 3/8" threaded rods and was rather crude. The current version that has been sold for many years now, uses 5/8" cnc-machined shafts, and has stainless roller bearings under the knobs.

A smooth, portable mount
I bought this to have an airline portable mount. It moves beautifully making it easy to center objects at power. It holds my 102mm refractor nicely and can be mounted to a variety of tripods which means it can fill a variety of roles.

The representative from Stellervue worked me with to custom bore the mount I needed to use with an older Meade tripod. This mount works perfectly with my 8" Meade LX200 SC to give me the alt-az setup I wanted.

Great mount!
Amazingly sturdy mount. Handles a 4" refractor with no issues. Also handles an 8 inch reflector stable enough for 300x on Venus. Sets up in seconds. Only dinging it a star because the threads on the knob turning action has a slightly rough feel, but I am a mechanical engineer and I notice tiny things like that. At the price point, it is fantastic. Just get it, you won't be sorry. Stop using tripod heads and just get it!

M002C Mount
As a long time-user of the Unistar Deluxe mount, I finally decided to look at other mounts. My Unistar Deluxe ws showing it's age. I decided to purchase the M0002C mount. when I received, I could see that it was a finally engineered product. I mounted my SV105 on it and was very pleased with its movements. I am very impressed with this mount and I highly recommend this alt az mount to any including the discerning Amateur Astronomer.

Truly a beautiful work of machined art
My long 100mm F9 ED doublet refractor went from over 4 seconds of annoying vibrations to under a second! I am so glad a dropped the coin on this beautiful M2C mount, it was money well spent. It's beefy, extremely well made and very pleasing to look at as well. Its a beautiful work of machined art and it performs flawlessly with its silky smooth operation. Stellarvue is a top notch company that really cares about their customers. Vic was very helpful when I called with questions and with an issue I had and took care of it right away. Thanks dude! I highly recommend it so stop thinking about it and order one, you wont be sorry.
