Now is the best time to buy a Stellarvue Telescope and here is why:

As of this date, it is possible to purchase certain Stellarvue telescopes at last year's prices. While we hand figure all SVX objectives in house here at Stellarvue, the super-low-dispersion glass we use is only made in the Far East and the rare-earth materials needed in them are only available from China. Super low dispersion optical glass is the most expensive component in a premier apochromatic refractor. Tariffs have a significant impact on glass cost.

Currently (as of 8/12/2025) the percentage cost of tariffs is triple what it was last year. We have been holding off on ordering more glass due to tariff uncertainty. For this reason, we have now run out of SVX140T refractors and will soon run out of SVX130T's and SVX180T's. So now is the best time to buy a Sellarvue to avoid significantly longer waiting periods and possibly higher costs.

We have been working on ways to increase our efficiency in order to minimize cost increases. At this time:

1. We will continue to provide the same outstanding service for our customers.
2. We will continue to meticulously hand figure each SVX objective here in house.
3. We will continue to service all telescopes purchased directly from Stellarvue. This includes those purchased as new or CPO and it includes telescopes that were accidentally damaged by the customer, after the warranty expired, as long as they were purchased directly from Stellarvue. If you are a member of the Stellarvue family, we have your back!
4. Until further notice, we will be discontinuing service for telescopes obtained elsewhere on the used market.

We will continue to update you here.
