The Stellarvue Access 102 mm telescope is your chance to own a high-performance Super ED Apo at an affordable price! It uses a unique combination of materials to keep the cost down without sacrificing usability. The objective contains an apochromatic doublet using a combination of FCD100 and Lanthanum which will keep your image contrast high, and since every lens is aligned before shipment you can be sure that you’ll be getting color free visual performance, but without the higher price. With the 2.5 inch focuser you’ll be able to handle any combination of diagonal and eyepiece. Also, with the superior design of the rack and pinion focuser you can be assured of smooth yet stable drawtube travel.
Tube and dew shield: The Stellarvue Access 102 comes with an aluminum tube and dew shield that is finished in Instrument White. Fittings are black anodized aluminum. The dew shield retracts reducing the length of the telescope when being stored. Extending the dew-shield minimizes dewing of the objective at night and serves as a glare shade during the daytime.
Internal tube treatment: The inside of the main tube assembly is painted "ultra flat black" and is baffled to eliminate tube wall reflections.
2.5" Stellarvue visual/photographic focuser: Our new smooth and stable dual speed, 2.5” focuser provides a full 3.5" of travel. This focuser is perfect for visual use. The Stellarvue focuser on the SV102-Access is fully-rotating, heavy-duty rack and pinion unit designed to carry a higher capacity. It has an ultra-smooth (10:1 Ratio) fine focus control to attain perfect focus every time. An internal brake system allows the user to adjust capacity. All of the features add up to one of the finest dual speed focusers available today.
Aluminum hinged rings: The Access 102 comes with two lightweight, hinged aluminum mounting rings. Each ring has five 6 mm threaded holes top and bottom. There is one center hole and two holes spaced 38 mm apart and two holes spaced 60 mm apart. Use the included rail for telescope mounts using the Vixen style rail or use the optional TP6 for mounts that use the larger Losmandy style rail.
Vixen Style Rail and Balance: The Access 102 comes with a Vixen style rail with a center 1/4-20 threaded hole and several through holes for mounting rings to it with 6 mm socket cap head screws.
Case: Includes our C009S heavy duty, thickly padded nylon case. These cases are substantially more durable than the thin walled Chinese hard cases.
Light gathering and magnification power: A 102 mm refractor gathers 213 times the amount of light the naked eye does. Although Dawes limit states maximum power for telescopes under good conditions is about 250 power for a 102 mm telescope, you can exceed this power on a steady night. Check the Recommended Accessories section to make the best choice for eyepieces.
Two year warranty and Stellarvue Service: We are with you for life. Stellarvue telescopes and accessories are covered by a two year warranty. But it does not stop there. Since we are a telescope maker, we can repair your telescope for a very nominal fee years after it goes out of warranty, should you accidentally drop it on concrete or otherwise damage it. Buy a Stellarvue Telescope with confidence. Our customer care is legendary.
Free shipping: Order now and when ready the telescope will ship free to the lower 48 states only. Shipping will be either UPS or Fed Ex whichever has the lowest rate.
Get our best 2" Quartz Star Diagonal with the telescope and save $50. See the offer above.
Low Power, Wide Field Eyepiece for larger extended objects, loosing yourself in the star fields of the Milky Way, etc. We recommend one of two options. If you are using a go-to computerized telescope mount the E7026R can serve a dual purpose. This eyepiece provides a wide 70 degree field of view and it has a crosshair reticle built in. This reticle will assist you in centering the three stars when you set up your telescope to operate in go-to mode. You can optionally purchase an illuminator for the eyepiece to make it easy to see the crosshair. Since this eyepiece is economical and has the crosshair, many of our customers like using it. For better overall correction and the widest field of view get the EOP 20.0.

Asking yourself if you should buy a Stellarvue product? Well, here is my experience. Emailed Stellarvue on a Saturday afternoon. About a 1/2 hour later got a reply from Vic answering my question about an older used Stellarvue scope. Back and forth with a couple of emails, end up purchasing a new 102 Access with interferometric test from Vic about an hour later. So now the wait to get the scope :) Received it 1 day early, unpack the beautiful scope and fantastic padded bag from top notch package job. Check my paperwork, .983 Strehl?!?!?!?!?! Unbelievable!!! Had 5-6 out of 10 seeing that night, had to set it up. The views were as unbelievable as the scope is beautiful. From the Pan 22 to the Nagler 13 to the Siebert 3.9. I sold a SV80ED to get this scope, bought a SV80 9/D while going thru the process. I now have 2 scopes that will be handed down to my grandchildren. I cannot say enough about the quality, care, service, and level of commitment to manufacturing the best products for us to enjoy our crazy obsession with astronomy. Vic and the Stellarvue team is the best. Thank you !!!!
Well for my 50th birthday I decided to to buy a telescope, I wanted one with quailty and great customer service. years ago i owned a William Optics 90mm and loved it, So i was looking for something as equal or above. for weeks i looked at many companies trying to make that big decision and went for the Stellarvue 102mm Access. When it arrived the case was ripped inside where the dovetail sits like it was dug into the case I immediately thought that this scope had been handled rough, that was taken care of by the company with a new one thank you for that, But i bought this scope based on the fpl53 glass it had based on the description and the great view my old scope had, I then noticed the change using FDC100 it left a knot in my stomach knowing I didn't get what i paid for but was told it was just as good nothing to worry about, and when the dew shield is fully extended it is wobbly when touched by my hand. Anyhow the scope is really nice has a smooth focuser and paint is nice, I had read reviews of other people that had bought this that had gotten a report of some kind with there scope mine did not come with any such thing just a book on it a newsletter and warrenty card i did order this from Highpoint Scientific because at the time this site didn't allow me to order it without a diaganal which i already had. This is not a review to bash the scope at all just telling my experience, It does provide very pleasing views for my ageing eyes and the weight is perfect.
Tim: Thanks for your review as we care a great deal about what people think and having insight into the experience helps us. We never had that case issue before but were happy to replace it for you. Enjoy the views!

I purchased the Access 102 based upon a number of very positive reviews and with the intention of using it as a portable alternative to my larger scopes primarily for visual observation.Upon receiving the Access I was immediately struck by by two things: the small size of the unit and the exceptional build quality. This scope is superbly portable and works well on a lightweight equatorial mount, making it perfect for quick views in the back yard, just as I had hoped. I'm especially picky about focusers, and I'm very pleased with the quality of the focuser on the Access 102. The action of the rack and pinion focuser is smooth and solid, and I especially like the over-sized knobs. I've had the scope out under the stars four times now and have been very pleased with the quality of the optics. Views of the moon, Jupiter and Saturn have been very sharp and free of excess color, just as a good apochromatic refractor should be. Views of nebulous objects, such as the Dumbell, Omega and Rosette, have been exceptional, with the Access providing impressive contrast. All in all I'm extremely pleased with my purchase and consider the Access 102 to be a "keeper." Although I can't vouch for the photographic performance of this scope, as a visual instrument it is an exceptional value. Couple that with Stellarvue's exceptional customer service, and this scope is a winner!
Hi guys. Just for an update. I received the telescope last Friday. However because of cloudy Skies in So. Cal. this week I've only been able to look at the scope not through it. Uggh. It looks beautiful! It's supposed to rain this weekend too. Will update. Thanks for your patience.
StellarVue hit it out of the park with the Access 102! The quality of the tube, optics, and the SV 2.5 focuser more then hold their own over other, far more expensive products from other vendors.
So far I've used my Access 102 for daytime viewing of our local mountain range, and nighttime looks at the moon and Jupiter (with its moons). Images are crisp and contrasty, and I especially like how they "snap" into focus. Color correction is excellent. I'm eager to get out of the neighborhood and under some darker skies to try it out for some deep sky viewing. Well done, StellarVue team!
"Wow" is my preliminary assessment. This scope is amazing and far surpasses the "Access" name.
Regarding daytime use when compared to my 4" achromatic, the difference is like comparing analog TV to digital. Views of birds were crisp with very sharp colors.
As for astronomy, I have had poor skies and very limited night use so far. I did briefly look at Jupiter and M81 & M82. Jupiter had no purple even at x200+. (I didn't think that was possible with such a short doublet.) M81 & M82 had better contrast than my 10" dob.
On top of great optics (mine had Strehl score over .97), since it's under 19" with focuser remove, I will be able to take it on flights out west (live in OH) and overall it's a beautiful instrument from its solid focuser to the smooth sliding dew shield.
Vic and everyone at Stellarvue, thank you for a very exciting, high quality, affordable scope.
