Additional Info

The Stellarvue 90TF is our most advanced 90 mm apo triplet telescope. The SV90TF  features our exclusive Fluorite (Calcium Fluoride center element) 90 mm f-7 (630 mm focal length) objective  lens. This is a top rated visual and photographic instrument, as the many images  posted on the internet can attest to. The 3" Feather Touch focuser is larger than  needed in providing wide field large chip imaging.

Fully multicoated Fluorite objective: Our proprietary, hand figured, Calcium Fluoride lens has received top ratings for its optical prowess. The six hand figured lens surfaces all have extreme broadband multi coatings, giving high contrast for the most vivid stars and the darkest of  skies. These coatings  transmit light above and below the visual spectrum, which is important to  minimize reflections seen on ccd images.

Powder coated aluminum tube and dew shield:   The aluminum tube and dew shield are machined and powder coated in our textured "Instrument White" finish with black  anodized aluminum fittings to hold the telescope. When the  telescope is used, this dew shield may be extended to minimize dewing of the  objective at night and to serve as a glare shade during the daytime. When being  stored, the dew shield retracts to reduce the length of the telescope.

Internal tube treatment: The main tube interior is painted "ultra flat" black  inside and is baffled to eliminate excess light reflection. The 11 baffle  ridges of the focuser drawtube are painted "ultra flat" black to eliminate the  most common type of reflections. This treatment is far better than draw tubes that are merely  threaded. The blackened edges of the objective are the final method used to  preserve the outstanding contrast of this exceptional Fluorite lens.

3" Feather Touch dual speed focuser: The 3" Feather Touch offers 3.5"  of travel and is large enough to work with our biggest field flattener. This focuser comes with the 2” and 1.25” adapters for use with any eyepiece or plug in adapter. So this  focuser is perfect for visual and imaging use with all ccd cameras on  the market. The Feather Touch features an ultra-smooth coarse/fine focus knobs  (10:1 Ratio), internal brake system, ultra-low backlash system and may be fully  rotated. Don't compromise, get the best.

Aluminum hinged rings:   The SV90TF comes with two 4.1" aluminum  mounting rings. Each ring has five screws top and bottom. Threaded holes are  6 mm. There is one center hole, two holes spaced 1.5" apart and two holes spaced  60 mm apart. You can utilize the optional TP-10 rail for telescope mounts that uses the Vixen style rail or the  optional TP6 for mounts that use the larger Losmandy style rail.

Supplied case: The SV90TF comes with our C130 heavy duty, thickly padded, airline carry on case.

In addition to the supplied  accessories, you will need a star diagonal or erecting prism, eyepiece(s) and amount. You may also want to  purchase a reflex or optical finder scope

Light gathering and magnification power: The purpose of a telescope is to  gather light and magnify the apparent size of the object being viewed. A 90 mm  refractor gathers 165 times the amount of light the naked eye can to reveal  faint objects in space. Magnification power (the increase in relative size of  the object being viewed) is dependent upon the eyepiece being used. Different  eyepieces provide different magnification powers. Since this telescope uses a highly  accurate, hand figured objective lens triple tested in the USA, these  telescopes are free of the coma and astigmatism seen in many import telescopes.  This provides sharp and clear details when viewing at higher powers. Dawes limit, which is  the stated maximum power for telescopes under good conditions is about 213 powers  for a 90 mm telescope. Check the Recommended Accessories section to make the  best choice for eyepieces.

Two year warranty and Stellarvue Service:  Stellarvue telescopes and accessories are covered by a two year warranty. But it  does not stop there. Since we are a telescope maker, we can repair your  telescope for a nominal fee years after it goes out of warranty, should you  accidentally drop it on concrete or otherwise damage it. Buy a Stellarvue  Telescope  with confidence. Our customer care is legendary.
