SV 80S (Lomo) Apo Triplet

 

The SV80S uses the venerable Lomo 80 mm f-6 apo triplet lens made in Russia. This lens has the reputation of being the finest 80 apo lens ever made for both visual and photographic work. Lomo is no longer producing this lens. We have only a dozen left. So this is the last of the SV80S using the Lomo lens. Once the existing stock is depleted, this model will be discontinued.   When you order we will make this telescope for you as a custom instrument. We can engrave your name on the telescope if you like. Choose from our three most popular colors. The aluminum tube and dew shield will be powder coated when you place your order. Allow 30 - 45 days.

SV 80S (Lomo) Apo Triplet - Midnight Stardust

The venerable SV80S uses what many consider to be the best 80mm commercial lens ever made, the Lomo 80mm f-6 apo triplet. This is one super deluxe version of this telescope with our American made cnc clamshell ring, Feather Touch 2.5” rack and pinion focuser, 1.25 and 2” compression ting adapters, and deluxe Wood Wonders foam lined wooden case. This one is powdercoated in Midnight Stardust. The color appears dark blue inside but bring it out into the sun and the white and blue stars erupt making this one of the favorite colors we have ever offered.

UM2TT - M2 mount, column and travel tripod

This is the M2 mount and column attached to our small travel tripod that can be collapsed making it airline travel size. It is made of three sections of stainless tubing and is only 20” long when in travel mode. This tripod has a 60 mm recess at top and a 5/8”-11 mounting bolt same as many surveyor’s tripods. With the M2 mount and column, the maximum telescope height is 4 1/2’ feet above the ground. Tripod weighs 8 pounds. Tripod with column and M2 mount weighs about 15 pounds.

While not as stable as the tripod below, this tripod is easy to travel with a works great with our 50 - 90 mm refractors especially if you observe from a seated position

Buy this mount/tripod system with the  telescope above and save $100. This mount/tripod system will hold  Stellarvue telescopes up to 115 mm. This is an easy to use large version  of our M1 mount. Large knobs allow for tension adjustment. Once the  tension is set, the user merely glides around the sky with a smooth and  stable mount that literally "disappears" in use. This system mounts the telescope closer to the center of the tripod providing better stability  and less damping time than single arm fork mounts. This system includes: The smooth and stable M2 alt  azimuth mount head, MEC2 extension column, heavy duty adjustable surveyor's tripod and adjustable Appleply accessory tray

Stellarvue field flattener for astrophotography

Our dedicated flattener will flatten the field on an APS chip to about 8% which is excellent. The flattener plugs into the focuser and the camera mounts to it using a standard photographic t-thread (you camera will need a t-adapter. Some cameras may require the ET3 extender to reach focus.

This flattener is made for our f-7 refractors. It threads to the rear of our new Stellarvue 2.5” focuser. A DSLR camera with t-ring threads to it. This provides a completely threaded mounting solution for larger chip cameras when used with the SVF25 focuser.
