Customer Comments - 130EDT

Here is a brief first-light report on the SV130EDT. I wanted to
wait until I had a couple of pics to also post of it in the observatory
in use, but family obligations and bad weather have slowed me down
on that. Since we all know what the scope looks like anyway, I'll add
the pics later and post the data now. I'll have more data and sample
DSO shots/planetary webcams coming soon when skies clear and my
schedule eases a little. I am very pleased with the visual and
medium-format CCD performance of the 130EDT. It is definitely a
keeper, and worth the wait

Well, I know that I want one now!! :-) That image is indeed very beautiful.

I'm very excited to report that I put my money down on a SV130EDT today! My
complete order included:

SV130EDT
CGEM Mount
D1029ED (2" Dialectric Diagonal)
TVEP (27mm Televue Panoptic - 2")

Given that Vic has some 130EDTs in the pipeline it's possible I might see the
equipment sometime in mid- to late- April. It's so nice having something this
exciting to look forward to!

When calling to make my deposit this afternoon I had the pleasure of speaking
with Shelly. As you have all reported, she is truly very nice and helpful!

For those of you in the Midwest I apologize in advance for the 5-6 weeks of
clouds that will loom over the region beginning sometime in the near future due
to this order.... The astronomy gods are quite fickle, and when they get news of
a SV130EDT heading to Wisconsin we're going to be in for it.

I know you will love your SV130! You will certainly see the universe
in a whole new and different way! The planets and the DSO will
certainly be stunning! If I could get a 5" inch refractor, this
would be the one I would get.

Saturn was stunning through the 130, especially on Sunday night when the air
steadied the best. Lots of detail in moments of steadiness.

I took an image with the SV130 on Thursday night. Wow, what a nice
scope! The 3-inch focuser with feathertouch is really nice for exact
focusing.
