Product Description
This is a very short run of our 130 mm apo triplet refractor using FK-61, an extra-low dispersion glass that is an equivalent to Ohara FPL-51. These objectives are hand figured in our shop to .95 Strehl. We limited the amount of time we spend on these to keep the cost reasonable. It will not perform to the same level as our SVX130T which uses a super low disperson glass and is hand figured to .98 Strehl. Visit https://www.stellarvue.com/optical-glass-types/ to learn more about glass types.
To keep the cost as low as possible, we use imported metal parts that are lighter than the cnc machined components on our SVX series. Threaded holes on the mounting rings are metric M6X1 threads instead of 1/4-20 threads used on our cnc rings.
Optics: Stellarvue opticians figure objectives in our shop using the interferometer and a double pass autocollimater. Optics are figured to reduce aberrations and in the process they are brought up to higher than .95 Strehl as measured on the interferometer. This telescope can be used visually and with the addition of the SFFX-1 photographic field flattener it can be used for astro-imaging.
Coatings: Each objective lens focuses light precisely, and the extreme broadband coatings on each surface enhance it even further. Since these coatings transmit more than 99% in the visual spectrum and above and below it, potential reflections are eliminated. Our SVA130EDT comes in a specially machined, temperature compensating steel lens cell that maintains the performance despite dropping temperatures. The cell is heavier than an aluminum cell but it does not expand or contract as much as aluminum when temperatures change.

Optional Visual Accessories: You will need a star diagonal, eyepieces, mount, and tripod to observe with this telescope. You will find that a finder scope is helpful in locating objects. We recommend the following:
Finder Scope: Optional. We recommend the F050IW2 finder scope. The proper ring system for this finder is the R050DA ring system.
Diagonal: Optional. Please note: You can purchase our best 2" diagonal and save $50. Just select the option above and it will be supplied with the telescope for $199.
Eyepieces: Optional. We recommend our best eyepieces for this telescope: a complete set of the Stellarvue Optimus eyepieces. Save money when you select the complete set. This set comes with a large, thickly padded case that holds the Optimus set, two additional 1.25" eyepieces, a 2"-star diagonal, and two other items such as a photographic flattener and small camera. Select this option above and it will be supplied with the telescope at $100 off for $1346. Select "Add All Accessories" above and save $159. You get the case, eyepieces and 2" Quartz Star Diagonal for $1536.
Mounts: For visual use, the Celestron AVX mount with stainless tripod and go-to capability works great.
For imaging we recommend either the Losmandy GM811G, G11G or Paramount MYT. Select the mount you prefer above and save.
Optical Imaging Accessories:
Field Flattener: To image with this telescope at 910 mm f-7, use the SFFX-1 Photographic Field Flattener.
