SV130 Apo

Posted by Vic Maris on 28th Aug 2014

Over the next 30 days we will do a lot of development and testing of various flatteners and reducers for our air spaced SV130 apo. We have developed numerous options, fabricated adapters and now our good friend Jon Talbot will conduct real world evaluations.

This is part of a bigger project to create a relatvely fast 130 astrograph with temperture compensating focuser. This is my next big project. It is based on all of the issues people have seen with the recent crop of cheaper, lower quality astrographs. I have received numerous emails from folks reporting the usual issues making it hard to image. Harder than it needs to be. Often making an excellent image impossible to get.

World class images require a world class apochromatic imaging system. I am on it!
