Guide Scope Rings
Guidescopes are used as super finders and for guiding the main telescope when imaging. When mounting a guidescope on top of another telescope, it is necessary to use adjustable rings such as those pictured to the right. Adjustable rings allow the guidescope to be moved slightly in relation to the main telescope. This is necessary because if simple hinged rings were used for both telescopes, they would be pointed in slightly different directions. When using a guidescope as a super finder, adjustable rings will allow the user to make sure each telescope is centered on the same object. When doing astro-photography, adjustable rings will make it possible to point the guidescope at a relatively bright guide star for guiding while the main telescope is centered on the object being photographed. We offer two guidescope ring systems. For more information, visit our Guidescope Rings Page
