We are a small company with a friendly and highly motivated staff. We have been in business for 19 years and we are growing. Sales have increased steadily. Two positions are currently being sought:

POSITION #1. Assembly Technician Trainee: We are in immediate need of a very positive, self-motivated, hard-working and dedicated person with mechanical aptitude to learn how to assemble both optical and mechanical parts. Applicants must have the ability to lift 20 lbs and do repetitive work on their feet. The Assembly Technician Trainee will work for a maximum of three months training as an Assembly Technician. If the trainee successfully passes training, they will be immediately considered for a permanent Assembly Technician position. 

The permanent Assembly Technician will work on probation for 60 days. Upon completion of probation we offer benefits including health, dental and vision. At the beginning of each year all non-probationary employees are allowed to participate in Stellarvue's Simple IRA plan. Stellarvue matches the employees 3% contribution.  

The Assembly Technician for Stellarvue reports to the Stellarvue Office address and works full time assembling parts including both mechanical and optical parts. Work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 5PM. This position reports to the Production Manager.  In the absence of the Production Manager, the position reports to the Admin Officer or President.

This position will be trained to complete each task. The production manager will answer all questions when needed to ensure assembly is done correctly. Once trained, this position will:  Assemble mechanical and optical parts for inventory from numerous components. Maintain the parts assembly book, documenting any changes to component parts or procedures. Ensure all components and tools are stored properly. Arrange for parts to be treated and or painted as needed. Packaging, boxing, labeling and completing a QC sticker when the item is finished, tested and boxed. Finished products will be placed in inventory and the inventory will be updated according to the needs of the company.   

The Assembly Technician is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of a safe, organized and clean work environment, complying with all requirements and policies, and efficiently preparing and assembling inventory items.  This position has a salary range of $10 - $16 hr based on experience, skill and demonstrated proficiency in meeting all requirements of the job.

This position requires good mechanical skills, the aptitude and disposition to assemble a large number of parts accurately; the ability to test each part for proper fit and function and capability of screening each product for proper cosmetic appearance. Stellarvue employees participate in a random drug testing program in order to maintain a drug-free workforce.

POSITION #2Optical Technician

display-lens-grinding.jpgOur parent company, Auburn Precision Optics is in immediate need of a very positive, self-motivated, hard-working and dedicated individual with at least five years of optical shop experience. This position will operate grinding and polishing spindles, continuous polishing machines and will perform optical tests using test plates, spherometers and interferometers. Experience in performing QC inspection is also required.  Experience using other machinery including metal lathes, milling machines and cnc equipment is desirable. Programming experience is desired but not mandatory. 

Depending on experience, the optical technician may work as a trainee for no more than 90 days to bring skills up the the level required. Upon passing as a trainee or if the candidate already has all the required experience, the Optician position will go through a 60 day probation. Upon completion of probation we offer benefits including health, dental and vision.
