STELLARVUE DARK SKY STAR PARTY - 2016
The Stellarvue Dark Sky Star Party (DSSP) for 2016 was the best one yet. While the days were quite warm, each night was stunning with magnitude 7 skies with a darkness rating of 22 or better! The Milky Way was extremely bright and detailed. 43 Stellarvue owners enjoyed great company, excellent dark conditions, training programs, hikes and a brief visit from a rather short Bigfoot known as "Little Foot."
The telescope field had some great equipment ranging in size from numerous new Stellarvue 130's to our new 70 mm apo triplet. Two very special SVA127 dual fluoro's were on hand, many 102 and 115 Apo triplets. Preston Smith demonstrated his new ultra compact travel set up using the SV70T. Jon Talbot ran a series of tests on the new SVS80 Prototype and took some amazing images. He used Vic's Paramount MX+ which looked over-mounted until Tony Sarra showed up with his SVQ100 seen below.
More pictures to follow including some excellent astrophotos as participants send them in!
