Photographic Field Flattener

This system consists of the Televue field flattener. The flattener plugs into the 2" focuser and the camera mounts to the rear using a t-thread. This system will flatten the field photographically to increase the in focus image circle and will reduce the photographic speed from f-7 to f-5.6. The astro-photographs seen on this page were taken using this field flattener.

Stellarvue's New BV3 Binoviewer.  Our new BV3 binoviewers feature high contrast, 22mm BAK4 prisms and they weigh only 22 ounces! This binoviewer will work with any of our "binoviewer-ready" telescopes as well as popular SCTs. For use with our non binoviewer-ready telescopes (such as the Nighthawks, 809D and SV102ED) or any other refractor on the market, the BVA adapter below is required. This system includes the improved BV3 binoviewer with locking, self centering collets, and two fully multi-coated 23mm eyepieces.

These binoviewers come with our high performance 23mm wide field fmc eyepieces providing a 50 degree field of view and 18mm of eye relief. These are great high contrast eyepieces. These binoviewers work great with 23mm or shorter focal length 1 1/4" eyepieces. Our favorite binoviewing eyepieces are the 19mm Panoptics. For higher power work we like the 9 - 16mm Naglers.   #BV3

Standard Binoviewer With SCD Holders/Case Standard Binoviewer with new SCD holders
It's true. An historic review called "Binoviewer Shootout In The Desert" by Jim Gutman assembled 9 observers for a long night of side by side comparisons involving 5 binoviewers. We hadn't produced the Denk II at that time but suffice to say, The Standard came out very well.  After the review, several improvements were made to our Standard binoviewer. It now includes our special SCD Holders and the old Delrin slip-in holders while effective, were phased out long ago. This version includes SCD holders and a Denk Aluminum Case.
$499
Deluxe Denk II Binoviewer. The prisms are polished to 1/8 wave surface accuracy and include special baffling to control off axis reflections. Super transmissive coatings formulated to provide maximum contrast throughout the visible spectrum are all features that are rolled into our Premium Denk II Binoviewer. SCD Holders and fully machined, and laser engraved aluminum eyepiece holder dust plugs are standard inclusions. Shipped in an aluminum case with die-cut foam padding. This is a finely tuned optical instrument worthy or being called the "Premium" Denk II Binoviewer.

Proven Excellence

Only the Stellarvue has our exclusive adjustable lens cell. This cell allows us to ensure that every telescope that leaves our plant is perfectly aligned and will stay that way. Our cells have proven to maintain alignment better than non adjustable cells, especially when the telescope is jarred.

Aligned

The Nighthawk Next Generation gives you a field of view that is nearly twice as large when bino-viewing. Why settle for anything less than a Stellarvue?

bannerspecs06

Objective lens

80 mm clear aperture, 560 mm focal length, air spaced, doublet objective. This true ED lens was designed to provide maximum contrast and reduce false color. It provides an excellent star test. While this objective does not provide the level of correction seen in our apo triplets, it significantly reduces false color and enhances contrast just like other telescopes advertised as doublet ed apos. This telescope represents an outstanding value for the money using a hand figured, star tested ED objective.

Tube assembly

All aluminum, fully baffled, precision machined optical tube assembly.

Lens Cell

High precision aluminum, adjustable cell for accurate and stable alignment. The user need never worry about this alignment as our exclusive adjustable system uses five contact points holding lens elements in perfect position even when the telescope is jarred. Since each lens element is permanently held in place, the retainer applies less pressure on the lens, eliminating optical pinching.

Mounting Rings

Stellarvue's heavy duty cnc dual mounting rings with holes top and bottom fitting a variety of plates including the Vixen, Celestron, Losmandy, etc. Mounts directly to the Stellarvue M4 mount. Mounts to a camera tripod or any 2" dovetail mount (including the M1) with the TP5 plate. Mounts to Losmandy mounts with the TP6 plate.
