The Stellarvue SV80ED is the only 80mm ED telescope to come binoviewer ready. Also known as the Nighthawk Next Generation, this telescope uses premium extra low dispersion glass
and can use binoviewers without optical correctors- providing the widest and brightest possible field of view.
MORE FEATURES THAN ANY OTHER 80mm ED DOUBLET
Now with cnc clamshell ring, easy balance dovetail and heavy duty travel case
Only the Stellarvue has our exclusive adjustable lens cell. This cell allows us to ensure that every telescope that leaves our plant is perfectly aligned and will stay that way. Our cells have proven to
maintain alignment better than non adjustable cells, especially when the telescope is jarred.
Misaligned
Aligned
The Nighthawk Next Generation gives you a field of view that is nearly twice as large when bino-viewing. Why settle for anything less than a Stellarvue?
Objective lens
80 mm clear aperture, 560 mm focal length, air spaced, doublet objective. This true ED lens
was designed to provide maximum contrast and reduce false color. It provides an excellent star test. While this objective does not provide the level of correction seen in our apo triplets, it significantly reduces
false color and enhances contrast just like other telescopes advertised as doublet ed apos. This telescope represents an outstanding value for the money using a hand figured, star tested ED objective.
Tube assembly
All aluminum, fully baffled, precision machined optical tube assembly.
Lens Cell
High precision aluminum, adjustable cell for accurate and stable alignment. The user need
never worry about this alignment as our exclusive adjustable system uses five contact points holding lens elements in perfect position even when the telescope is jarred. Since each lens element is permanently held
in place, the retainer applies less pressure on the lens, eliminating optical pinching.
Mounting Rings
Stellarvue's heavy duty cnc dual mounting rings with holes top and bottom fitting a variety of
plates including the Vixen, Celestron, Losmandy, etc. Mounts directly to the Stellarvue M4 mount. Mounts to a camera tripod or any 2" dovetail mount (including the M1) with the TP5 plate. Mounts to Losmandy mounts
with the TP6 plate.
Approximate Dimensions
3.5" diameter main tube and 4 1/16" diameter dewshield. OTA is 17 1/8" long and 19 3/4" with
dew shield extended. Weight of ota is about six lbs.
Heavy duty travel case that holds telescopes, diagonals, eyepieces and star charts
Limiting magnitude

Magnification
May be used to Dawes limit and above (186X) when the air is steady
Resolution
