SV4m

The SV4 is a conventional apochromatic optical tube assembly. The  four inch f-6.2 (630 mm focal length) apochromatic triplet objective. All SV4 telescopes have a fully baffled, all aluminum tube. SV4's are assembled one at a time at Stellarvue headquarters, and personally star tested by Vic Maris.

Our wait list is currently full for the SV4. We try and maintain reasonable waiting periods for telescopes made one at a time. We now have more SV4 telescopes on the wait list than we can make over the next two years so we are no longer taking orders for this model. Check out our SV102ABV and SV115T apochromatic refractors as alternatives to this choice. Thank you for you interest.

Objective

Zygo and star tested 102 mm clear aperture, apochromatic triplet objective using a super ed center element.  Optical design and accuracy combined with precise alignment ensures true apochromatic performance.

Tube assembly

All aluminum, fully baffled optical tube assembly using 1/8" wall tubing precision machined and threaded. Objective lens assembly mounted to a push pull flange for accurate alignment. Powder-coated with Pearl white finish. (Optional finishes include Stardust Blue and Midnight Stardust).

Mounting Ring

Aluminum cnc machined deluxe single ring, adjustable with three 1/4-20 threaded holes on the bottom 20 mm apart and numerous 10-32 threaded holes for mounting various reflect and optical finders.

Dimensions and weight

21" long with focuser unthreaded (travel mode) and 22.5" long with focuser installed.

Retracting dewshield is 4.1" diameter main tube and 5 5/16" diameter X 7 7/8" long. 

About 12.5 pounds with clamshell. 

Focuser

2" Starlight Instruments Feather Touch dual speed focuser with 2.5" travel and refractor brake to adjust tension. Compression rings on focuser and 1.25" adapter.
