 10X60 Deluxe Finderscope. Get more reach with a small lightweight finderscope with all of the features of the F50-2 series above. This one comes with a larger and faster objective: 60mm f-3.75, fully multicoated! The faster speed means the finder is light in weight (23 ounces) and the field remains wide but the edge is not as sharp. This finderscope works with our standard 50mm ring systems sold below (but not the clamshell sold above). The 60mm finderscope comes in a neutral matte black finish that goes well with any telescope regardless of color. Included with each finderscope is our standard 23mm, fully multicoated crosshair eyepiece with wide crosshairs, 1.25" helical focuser, rotating back (requires some finder re-alignment after rotation) and fully multi-coated correct image erecting prism.  This is the finderscope only.  Focuser for 10X60 Deluxe Finderscope This focuser attaches to the rear of the F60M above. You loosen the set screws and lock knob in the rear ring and pull out the prism. The 2" focuser then screws into the back. This provides straight through viewing only but it provides a much wider in and out of focus range. Users of webcams and auto guiders are now able to use our finder as more than something to locate objects with!  Note: This focuser only works with our F60 finderscope. #SFH2

Finderscope Reticle Illuminator
Rigel Pulse Guide Illuminator.  This illuminator will screw into the eyepieces of any of the finderscope above to provide you with a variable brightness red illumination on your crosshair. Vary the brightness to suit your preference. Two small knobs allow you to adjust the pulsation of the light so it blinks on and off at the rate you prefer. One knob controls how long the light is off and one how long it remains on. The blinking light allows you to see the object you are centering and the crosshair vividly. #EI

Unlike many finders that use inexpensive slide tube focusers or require screwing and unscrewing the objective to reach focus, the Stellarvue can be focused to accommodate different people thanks to its helical focuser. Merely turn the rubber grip to attain focus. All Stellarvue optical finderscopes will accommodate various standard 1 1/4" eyepieces. Most Naglers, Panoptics, Plossls and Kellners will come to focus although Barlows generally do not work.

Do not discount the performance of the included eyepiece. The eyepiece that comes with the finder is a high quality, fully multicoated, 23mm wide field eyepiece with 22 mm of eye relief, 50 degree field of view and a large eye lens. This eyepiece features a  focusing cross hair reticle and will accept reticle illuminators.

Customer comments: Today I just received the new Stellarvue 9x50 finder...All I can say is WOW, what a piece of work! Vic has now set a new standard in finder scopes too. It is both mechanically and optically head and shoulders above anything out there that I have seen.

The F50-2 finders were designed by Stellarvue to be the best in their class. We started with an accurately figured, fully multicoated doublet objective of our own design operating at f-4, mounted it in a blackened tube threaded the dew shield, designed and made a BAK-4 correct image erecting prism and mounted to that our unique helical focuser with rubber grip accepting all 1 1/4" eyepieces.  This eyepiece does an excellent job providing a sharp, high contrast image that is nearly as wide as 12 full moons!

The 60 mm finderscope uses a larger and faster objective.  While it is not as sharp across the field (since it is only f-3.75), it gathers more light. We recommend the 60 mm finderscope for use with the included eyepiece. But if you want the widest field and wish to boost power a little using your Televue eyepieces, we recommend the F50.

The focuser rotator allows the user to place the eyepiece in the most comfortable position but some realignment of the finderscope will be required after rotation.

STELLARVUE MOUNTING RING SYSTEMS

Stellarvue 50 mm and 60 mm finders mount to our R50 finderscope ring systems. To connect the finderscope to the rings, loosen the screws and slide the finder forward into the rings. If using other ring systems and if the dewshield is larger than the ring ID, do not unthread the dew shield (as the lens will fall out!). Instead, tighten the rotator thumb screw and use it to unthread the entire rear assembly from the finderscope main tube. Slide the finderscope tube into the rings and then thread the rear back assembly on.
