Geared Alt Azimuth Mount

This import mount will hold up to 20 pounds. It has a Vixen style dovetail shoe for use with our TP10 or TP14 rails for quick set up and disconnect. The mount can be moved manually and set so that the slow motion controls take over when needed.

There are 120 tooth worm gears on each axis allowing smoth slow motion control using the two knobs. There is also one slow motion cable for use with our longer refractors.

When transporting the mount, the fork arm may be removed by unscrewing two bolts. This results in a short mount head and a tripod that is only 31” long. It will fit easily in a duffle bag for transport. The mount and tripod weigh less than 14 pounds total.

This mount damps out vibrations in a few seconds. While our M2 mount dampens out vibration much faster and has zero backlash (you will notice a little play in each axis with the MGF), this mount has geared slow motion movements which the M2 does not have. So now Stellarvue customers have a choice when it comes to selecting a portable, easy to use, grab and go mount.

This single arm fork is adjustable in height and attaches with only two 6 mm screws. The included aluminum tripod extends for use and retracts for storage using one knob per leg. The height of the center of the telescope will be between 33 1/2” and 47 3/4” depending on how far the legs are extended. There is a bubble level on top of the tripod and a plastic spreader bar that will hold our optional Appleply eyepiece tray. Capacity is rated at 20 lbs and the mount and tripod weigh less than 14 pounds total.
